Yeah! The sillies were left at home today! And everyone was a great worker!
We had a very good morning! The students worked with math buckets creating their own story problems or solving basic addition problems.
We talked about ways that we get to school, and Mrs. Abbey read a magazine article called, How Do You Go to School?. We read the labels, which helped us match words to pictures in the article. Then buddies chose another thing to label in our own classroom. The kids love labeling things!
In handwriting, we worked on writing the lowercase "t".
As a baseline assessment, the students practiced writing the lowercase letters of the alphabet. Many students had difficulty with this task. The students can recall how to write the uppercase letters of the alphabet much easier than the lowercase letters. Their confidence and skills in this area will increase as we continue through our handwriting curriculum.
Tomorrow is the final day to order kindergarten t-shirts. They are green with a black frog and lettering. Please send $5 if interested.
I am planning some new literacy stations for the students to use at the beginning of December. If you would have time to trace, cut, or assemble materials over the Thanksgiving break, please let me know and I will prepare some work for you! Thank you!
Tomorrow is library day. Please send your library book back if your child would like to check out a new one.
