We talked about the 3 lines in handwriting...the blue solid top line, the blue dashed middle line, and the red solid bottom line. We learned how important it is to practice our writing slowly and carefully. We practiced the lowercase "l" and reviewed uppercase "L" today.
In art, the students are working on making leaf prints. They are looking wonderful!
The students learned how to solve story problems using drawings (instead of manipulatives) today. As a group, we practiced with drawings of fish, candies, rockets, and books.
ex. Emma went to the library and picked out 1 book. (draw one book) Then Emma decided to pick out 3 more books. (draw 3 books) How many books did Emma check out? (count and answer "4").After watching and counting along, the students got a chance to try one independently. They did a great job (this being their first time trying!).
Thank you to Ella's mom who worked with the kids on counting today!
