This week we are learning about the 4 seasons. Mrs. Abbey read In the Yard, a fictional book about a family who works and plays in the yard, and how their yard changes from season to season. The students made some great predictions of how they thought the yard would change!

We are learning 2 new sight words this week: "and" and "what".

The sounds we are focusing on are: /b/ and /l/.

In handwriting, the students practiced writing the letter "P, p".

Mrs. Abbey shared some new math games with the students...these games help students understand sequences of numbers.

ex. 4, ___, 6
ex. 11, 12, ___
ex. ___, 10, 11

During guided reading, the students worked on blending sounds to make words, identifying sight words, and reading books at their level. We will be recording our reading over the next several weeks using iPods!

Just to let you know...illness is going around Horizon. We had 3 students from our class out sick today.

Tomorrow we wear our green frog kindergarten t-shirts!
