We continued our theme of weather this morning. Mrs. Abbey read a fictional story called How Thunder and Lightning Came To Be. In this Choctow tale, two birds were put in charge of creating a system which would warn the people when a storm was coming. Ask your child to tell you what made the thunder in our story, and what created the lightning the people saw before it rained.
We went to the computer lab today and the students "painted" pictures of a rainy day using Kidpix. I kept the pictures for their portfolio. A few students had extra time to create a 2nd picture (those pictures went home in your child's folder today).
Mrs. Canada met with the students today and talked about 3 kinds of touches: good touch (hugs, handshakes, etc.), bad touch (hitting, kicking, etc.), and mixed-up confusing touches (inappropriate touches). Happy Bear will be here tomorrow to follow up with the students!
