Monday May 3, 2011

This week we are talking and reading books about art. Mrs. Abbey read, Warthogs Paint, a book about primary (red, yellow, blue) and secondary (green, purple, orange) colors. Thank you to Blake's mom for giving them some time to paint pictures! We typically don't have much time for creative projects during our morning, so the students were extra excited about this!

The students did an end-of-the year math assessment--basic addition story problem.

We reviewed our sight words, all 31 kindergarten words have been introduced!

Some of our plants have started to sprout! We can't wait for all of the cups to have some green leaves and stem poking through!

New literacy stations were introduced today. These stations focus on spelling/writing sight words, creating new words by changing letters in the word, and differentiating between real and made-up words. The students are enjoying this last set of stations!

If you have completed your April reading log (with raindrops to color in), please send it to school so your child can claim their prize!
